Defacto was a dub-reggae group in 1993, was made up Cedric Bixler Zavala (drums), Omar Rodriguez Lopez (bass) , Isaiah "Ikey" Owens (keyboards) and Jeremy Michael Ward (modulation and effects).

began in shows of At The Drive-in, opening the show with improvised songs.

This is the first album in 2001, there are many issues dub (of course), but also mixed rhythms of salsa and jazz. A great album from one that was a great band (the separation was a total tragedy) who managed to evolve into something totally huge ... The Mars Volta.
